My Background
My name is Dr Liam Martin, originally from Durham and studied at St Leonards and St Roberts RC Schools. I completed my English and Maths Degree, gaining a 2:1, at Lancaster University. I stayed on to complete my Masters Degree in Creative Writing. I then decided to complete my PhD in Private Tuition due to the academic practices of learning institutions.
My Expertise
I am passionate about helping people; what matters is to achieve their goals in life, or just help them over a difficult academic hurdle. People are different and respond to different things, sometimes people need more than a 'ONE SIZE FITS ALL' education — something more tailored and bespoke— that's where I come in.

What Parents Say
"Liam has been helping my daughter with her A Level Maths, with weekly one to one sessions. He is patient, knowledgeable and has a great rapport with her. Her confidence has grown enormously and her grades have improved significantly. I would highly recommend Liam to anyone looking for a tutor."

"Our son has additional needs and Liam was brilliant with him, he was unsuccessful in GCSE Maths first time round. Liam worked with him at his pace and he passed his resit with a grade 4. We are so grateful for Liam's patience and dedication."

"Liam started tutoring our son in year 7 at a time when his ADHD presented significant challenges to his focus and concentration in school. From the very beginning Liam took the time to get to know Fraser and to understand how he learns best. Over the years, Liam has supported with English, Maths and Science. Fraser achieved excellent GCSE results including a grade 7 in English. We are incredibly proud of his achievements and we know Liam played a huge role in helping him reach his potential. Liam's ability to engage and motivate a student, build positive relationships and provide flexible expert support has been invaluable."

"Liam tutored my daughter for her GCSEs. Whilst mainly we got in touch for science support what was amazing is that Liam helped her with every subject depending on what she had encountered over the weekend. He really built up a bond with her which allowed her to open up on her concerns and what she needed. She ended up doing brilliantly in her exams. Highly recommend Liam and we are hoping he will be able to help our other daughter nearer exams! Thankyou Liam!"

"My son is dyslexic and was struggling in his GCSE years. Thanks to the fantastic work done by Liam he passed his science and maths GCSE exams and is going forward to do A levels. Really can't recommend Liam highly enough."

"Liam was a wonderful support and lifeline for my son who suddenly, in his final GCSE yr had crippling migraines/nausea and anxiety which meant his school attendance dropped to just 50%. The fact that he could tailor support to help get him back on track - both academically in a range of subjects and especially with his confidence that was completely shattered was something we simply could not have done without his help. Looking forward to having Liam back to support him through his A-Level journey as he's happily managed to pass what he needed to continue on in his studies, which given the circumstances was testament to both of them!"
